South Fulton, GA Economic Development Strategic Plan
City of South Fulton, GA
BAE recently prepared a strategic economic development plan for the City of South Fulton, GA.
The City of South Fulton, with an estimated 2019 population of 100,176, became a city in 2017. The economic development strategic plan is the first economic development plan for the new city.
The first part of the plan is an assessment of economic conditions and trends. This assessment includes a real estate conditions report covering residential, retail, office and industrial real estate. This includes a detailed review of residential sales and rental trends as well as sales and leasing data, occupancy levels, and vacancy levels for retail, office and industrial.
The second part of the plan involves an extensive community input process. This includes surveys of both businesses and residents, focus groups, and Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) sessions with both business and resident participation. The input collected from the community provided guidance to both the city and BAE toward the development of economic development strategies, goals and recommendations.
The final plan includes short-, medium- and long-term recommendations toward achieving an improved local economy for South Fulton. This plan also includes and action plan for marketing and business development strategies, workforce development initiatives, and physical development and redevelopment priorities, including the siting of a new municipal town center.
